Proverbs 24:10 - How Strong? “If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!” (Proverbs 24:10 NIV)
by Chris
Trouble won’t last always.
Is it just me or does it seem like good times don’t last always either?
I’ve grown to know both statements are true. In fact, both statements are guaranteed.
You can view troubled times as situations that force you to go from promise to doubt. In contrast, good times can be viewed as situations that force you to go from doubt to promise.
The former requires strength to make it through; while the latter requires strength to make it to.
So one could say that no matter what we go through in life, our strength is constantly required and being tested. However, it’s not the high moments that reveal the level of our strength.
It’s the troubled times.
Troubled times reveal the truth about our walk and relationship with God. They show how consistent we’ve been in prayer with God as well as the amount of faith we are willing to exercise.
Brothers, I’ve come to know that it is the troubled times that are truly a blessing. They most definitely don’t feel good, but by going through them we all get to know God on a deeper level.
This is where true joy comes from. It comes from knowing that whatever we go through that the outcome is always in our favor.
Whether we are going through or coming to the result is always a better relationship and experience in Christ.
What troubled times is God using to strengthen you today? Don’t be discouraged, and definitely don’t lose faith.
It’s said that the growth of muscles can be attributed to the process of breaking them down which requires them to rebuild themselves stronger. Some view it as a form of protecting the body.
I would encourage you to view your troubled times in the same light. Just a different body being protected.
Lets pray...
“Father we thank you for who you are and all that you have done. Always providing us with victory over our situations. And when we are too weak to continue on, you step in with your perfect strength. Lord you are the true definition of having our back. Let our trials never overshadow our belief in you and your promises. But let us take on every troubling time as an opportunity to grow and get to know you better. We pray these things in your precious name. Amen”
