Proverbs 24:16 - Get Up! “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of calamity.”
(Proverbs 24:16 NASB)
by Chris
It’s not if but when.
The issue is never if you fall, it’s all about how you will respond when you fall.
The number seven is the number of completion. So if we were to insert that definition into the scripture it would read something like...
“For a righteous man completely falls, and rises again”
What areas of your life have you fallen completely off in? Were you able to quickly rise again, or did you stain yourself with the feelings of shame and guilt?
Brothers, do not be discouraged when you fall. It is guaranteed to happen in your walk of faith. Jesus himself promised this.
He also promised victory.
Through is crucifixion he set the ultimate example of the power of rising. Falling to his burial was just a precursor to the amazing work He would accomplish in his rising.
We are purposed to walk in that same power.
Your fall was always intended to happen due to the nature of flesh. However, it was never intended to define you.
We have been called to rise.
It is in the rise that we exemplify the true power of the resurrection. It’s the rise that shows the power and authority Christ has given us.
Christ got up so we can get up!
Lets pray...
“Father, thank you for dying for us. Through your death and ressurection you have given us salvation and authority over the adversary. Lord help us to remember that we are not defined by our falls or shortcomings. We all miss the mark but you love us anyhow. Give us the strength today to have short memory of our prior sins and walk in the power of rising again. For we are righteous men! In Jesus name we pray...Amen”
