Forgotten
“After Rehoboam’s position as king was established and he had become strong he and all Israel with him abandoned the law of the Lord.” (2 Chronicles 12:1 NIV)

I can’t even front on this one...
I’m guilty.
It seems like when things are bad I pray more, read more, call upon the Lord more, and yell for help a lot louder.
The second things start turning around I seem to fall back into my comfort zone of only praying when I need something.
And it’s not just with God...I do it with my marriage, relationships, and even business.
It’s just foolish.
The
same God that brings you to another level is the same God that wants to
sustain you at that level. AND continue to grow you to new levels.
But somehow we forget.
Somehow
we tend to think “Oh, I got this now Lord. You can step back”. This is
the kind of dangerous thinking that leaves us wide open for attack.
Brothers,
as God removes us from the storms in our lives, prospers us personally and professionally, and strengthens our relationships;
lets never forget it was by His goodness alone.
Stay humble but never complacent in the Lord.
Lets pray...
“Lord
today is different. I’m not coming to you to ask anything from you, but
to praise your precious name. Thank you for every new level in Christ
you have brought me to. I am grateful for all that you have done and
have made up my mind that in the midst of success I will draw even
closer to you. Thank you Jesus.”
Amen.
Question: What are some reasons you think we tend to fall back a bit after we get what we’ve been longing for?
