Subject: [Devotional] Endurance

1 Corinthians 15:58 - Endurance

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
(1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV)

by Chris

Don’t quit.

We are in the trenches with this fast and by now everybody should be feeling the effects. The great thing is this is were God really starts to speak.

The weaker the flesh the better. The stronger the urges to go back to your lifestyle habits the better. Those are signs of the flesh screaming to live.

Continue to deny it and let it die daily.

If you could imagine a ski lift in Colorado. The further up you go the harder it is to breathe due to the high elevation. The same goes for the flesh, the higher you elevate to God the harder it is for your flesh to breathe.

Brothers, this is why it is so important to build up your endurance in your faith walk. Fasting is great practice.

You need to be able to go through continual hardship and not lose sight of God’s promise or give in prematurely.

Merriam-Webster defines endurance as: the ability to withstand hardship or adversity, especially: the ability to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity.

It was love that brought Jesus to his grave and endurance that got him through the grave.

Take courage today in knowing that your labor is not in vain. God sees every ignored urge, hears every grumbling stomach, listens to every word prayed, sees every fallen tear, and honors every sacrifice.

Stay encouraged and keep pushing.

Lets pray...

“Speak to us Father. We are all awaiting a word from you God. We are weak in the flesh and our spirit man is open and willing to receive a word and direction from you. We will not turn back. We will continue to honor you with the best sacrifice of our lives. Father renew our strength in you that we may be able to endure until the completion of the process. Not just for the fast, but for what you have called us to do in our life as well. In Jesus name we pray. Amen”
