| Debt is demonic.
Yet it is the only path promoted to achieve success in the world.
From education to career placement to home ownership, it is nearly impossible to do it all without occurring debt along the way.
Can I propose to you today that God never intended for it to be like that? That these are the results of conforming to the laws of man.
When I look at my life I realize the debt that I have occurred generally resulted from two factors:
- Lack of knowledge
- Lack of preparation
The biggest factor, I will admit, was the lack of operating in the world as a kingdom minded man.
We are called to live in this world but not of it. Which means we abide by the laws of the land, but are not restricted to them. While the law says get debt to buy a home, by faith (discipline and wisdom) we can choose to purchase a home debt free.
We can raise our children to get full ride scholarships if we teach them early the power of a relationship with God.
Ultimately debt comes when we start making decisions under the world’s advisory board instead of God’s.
God has been personally stripping debt off of my family at a rapid rate. Debt freedom that used to be a dream is closer to a reality now than it ever was.
However, it only happened after I submitted to live my life according to His will regardless of how uncomfortable it was or how “crazy” it looked.
God can/will do the same for you.
Let’s pray…
“Father I rebuke the spirit of debt in my life right now. I claim that the curse stops with me. My children will inherit wealth and not bills. God you never intended for any man to be in debt to another except for the showing of the love of Christ. Help me to re-establish order in my life and my household so that the blessing of debt freedom can be realized. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.” |
