| | “ Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. ”
~ Matthew 11:28 NIV |
| You know God won’t put more on you than you can bear.
There are times where life just gets the best of you for the moment. Times that exercising your faith becomes spiritually and physically draining.
Times where you just want the trying times to end. By any means necessary.
But God doesn’t remove them.
It’s not that He’s ignoring you or doesn’t care. He’s trying to help you identify the true strength you have in Him.
The fact that you want the trial removed shows your acknowledgement that you have reached your personal limits.
But God is greater.
He will push you beyond what you believe you can endure. The fact that you are still going through is proof of the presence of His strength in your life.
So it becomes an honor to go through trials that are greater than your personal limits because it is God’s way of showing you just how strong you are in Him.
Just remember, He knows how trying the times are. He understands that you will have doubts and breakdowns along the way. And that’s why He promises you rest.
You can pause without quitting with God. He understands.
You can take as many timeouts without penalty with God. He is there to comfort.
You can pull over and rest as many times as you need. He will still take you to your destination.
Lets pray…
“Lord I receive your rest in my life today. Trials will always be present, but I am thankful for the strength I have in you to overcome them all. Thank you for not rescuing me when I think I need relief. By faith I will endure more than my flesh and inherit all that is stored up for me.Thank you Jesus. Amen.” |
