| | “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water
will flow from within them.” 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those
who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit
had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.”

| “I’ll believe it when I see it”...words that should never come out of the mouth of a Christian.
The order of faith is God speaks, you believe (receive it in your spirit), then it comes to pass. It is the only way to obtain the promises of God.
Today’s scripture takes place at the end of Jesus’ bold appearance at the Feast of Tabernacles.
He promised everyone there the Holy Spirit. But he told them they would receive it at a later time. Here’s what is interesting…
Jesus had not yet received the Holy Spirit. He was operating in faith because He knew the Father promised it to Him. He knew the word of God to be true and the Holy Spirit would come as a result to his ultimate sacrifice.
When is the last time you promised someone something you had not yet obtained?
This is the kind of faith we are all called to operate in. Taking the Father at his word and willing to carry it out by any means necessary.
Whatever God calls you to do is going to require faith and you will not obtain the result until you believe first. As Christians we believe first, then we see it.
Just remember faith is a choice. There were people who looked at the miracles that Jesus performed and still doubted. Jesus’ promises were continually scrutinized and met with disbelief.
So if you’re looking to see something materialize before you believe that God will do it…you will never see it done. That's not faith.
Faith looks at the facts at hand and supersedes them. It calls things into existence that do not make sense in the natural.
Whatever you are waiting on the Lord to do, believe it is already done right now. And with confidence walk in faith until you see it manifest.
Lets pray…
“Lord I hate doubting you. Sometimes trials do get the best of me and I find myself looking for proof to believe your word instead of releasing my faith. Father forgive me and my feeble faith. I know faith requires me to believe the invisible before it becomes visible. ALL of your promises are good and will come to pass. Today I choose to believe in the unseen. I am ready for all you have in store for me and am ready to activate my faith to inherit it all. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.” |
