“Take your son, your only
son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go
and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I
will show you.”
~ Genesis 22:2 NLT
What an honor it is to be tested by God.
It is the heavenly stamp of approval for your faith.
God testing you is the only way to prove the true level of faith you are willing to release and walk in.
Ultimately your biggest test will be the surrendering of your will for His will. The exchange of your plans for His promise.
This is done to test your willingness. Are you willing to do whatever God calls you to do in spite of what the outcome appears to be?
I have personally found this to be challenging. When a hard test comes my way I have to check myself that i am not trying to jump ahead of God and figure out what happens in the end.
This approach makes surrendering your will that much harder. You end up basing your decision on what the perceivable outcome is instead of God’s will.
Abraham had no clue that God would release him from sacrificing his son at the last minute. He was willing to lose his only son for the sake of being in the will of God.
God proved Abraham’s level of faith through his willingness to follow His instruction regardless of what the outcome would be.
God wants our hearts to be in a place of willingness for him, that whatever He says do you would be willing to do. No matter what.
To do so you must grow your faith muscle by exercising it daily. Getting it ready for when God wants to test it.
Because it’s going to take every ounce of your faith to overcome your flesh and surrender your will.
Because witnessing a deeper level of intimacy with God is worth it. Seeing Him truly honor your faith is something you should all set your hearts to desire.
Then you will realize the true power of faith and become the unstoppable force God created you to be.
Lets pray… “Lord i want more of you. Help condition my heart to be willing to do whatever you ask in exchange for a closer relationship with you. In Jesus name, Amen.”
