| Psalms 63:1 - All I Need
“O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water.”
(Psalms 63:1 NIV)

Sometimes we just have to stop and praise our Father.
Use our lips to magnify who He is and what He means to us in our lives.
Can you speak this Psalm and honestly mean it? Does saying these words feel true coming out of your mouth?
You’ve felt thirsty before. Where all you could think about is just getting a cup of cold water to quench your thirst.
You’ve also been in love with someone before. Where all you could think about was them. Your body couldn’t wait to meet theirs and embrace each other.
What about God? Have you ever felt that way about Him?
Have you missed reading your bible for a day or two and started truly missing time in your word? Can you go weeks without going to church and not feel empty?
These are serious question you must pause and ask yourself daily.
Do you search for God like you use Google?
I was convicted when I read this scripture because I could not answer positively to every question. There are times when I should be thirsty and I’m not.
Times that I look to fulfill my longing for Christ with a physical body and fleshly satisfaction.
This scripture challenged me today, and I pray it does the same for you.
Speak these words out loud until they are heart felt. Ask the Lord to create a thirst and longing for Him that can only be satisfied by being in His presence.
Dwell on this scripture daily until these words become your own. And you can recite them from the heart without a doubt of the truth behind them.
You can get caught up pursuing and longing for a lot in this world. However, when it’s all said and done - he is truly all you will ever need.
Lets pray...
“Father forgive me for quenching my thirst with anything but you. My longings have been misplaced in the flesh and I am growing weary. Weary of depending on others, and trying to live up to what everybody else thinks I should be. Lord I want to be like you. Create an insatiable desire in me for more of you daily. Let me feel empty without spending time in your presence. More so let me seek to be fulfilled by no one but you Father. You are all I need. In Jesus name I pray...Amen”
