Proverbs 18:2 - Airing Opinions “Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.” (Proverbs 18:2 NIV)
by Chris
There’s a cardinal sin in business.
That is to sell a product that you have no clue about.
In fact, this is the reason a lot of people are turned off by salespeople. “Sleezy salesmen” often do not take the time, or care, about understanding your needs and how their product will or will not meet those needs.
Have you ever had someone try to sell you something that they knew nothing about? Even if the product worked you were turned off by the approach.
The sales process is entirely different with a salesperson who takes to time to not only understand their product, but to be intentional with understanding the customer.
They are focused on value and truly enhancing the life of the customer.
The world has taken the former approach when it comes to Christianity. They don’t take the time to truly understand the bible. Therefore, when they speak on preachers and matters of the church it is often misconstrued and filled with personal bias and opinion.
The bible has given us the right to label these people as fools.
Brothers, we have the greatest product ever known to mankind. It is salvation.
But before we start heavily evangelizing to the world we need to take the time and understand what a real relationship with Jesus entails. How to walk upright on earth and project the love of Christ.
We need to understand the objections the lost have when it comes to giving their life to Christ and be able to point them to scripture.
Ultimately, we have to experience the redeeming work and transformation of salvation personally before we can accurately offer it to the lost.
The main difference between products of the world and salvation is this...
Jesus is for everybody. That is an understanding that is indisputable.
Lets pray...
“Father we thank you for operating in understanding. You sent your Son to conquer the flesh and experience our trials in human form. That you show us the importance of understanding the plight of sin and how to become victorious over it. We ask you for a deeper understanding of your Word and our purpose Father. Reveal what has been hidden to us. We come before you as mighty men of valor ready to serve and spread the gospel. Increase our hunger for more understanding of your ways and your word Father. In Jesus name we pray...Amen”
