Subject: Absolutely nothing

Daily encouragement for men of faith
"But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,"

~ Philippians 3:7-9 KJV
Knowing God is truly a gift.

There is nothing in life you should hold at a higher standard than a deeper relationship with God.

Paul found this to be true and called everything else "doo doo" (or manure) compared to having Christ.

There was nothing you could put before Paul that he would esteem higher than his relationship with Christ. We all need to adapt that same heart towards our Savior.

As men we have a hard time of letting go of the idea of not being the man. It took Michael Jordan multiple retiring efforts before walking away, Tyson fought until all he did was lose every fight, and Brett Favre stayed long enough to become a laughing stock among the league.

We take this same approach to life, unfortunately. Holding on to old jobs when God wants to give you a new career. Old relationships become comfortable and crippling. Never leaving the state you were born in due to the fear of the unknown.

We all run from letting go in our own ways, and we must change it.

This requires a spirit of release. To be willing to let go of anything at any given moment for the sake of God's will to be fulfilled in your life.

Be willing to let go of who you are (or were), to accept who God has called you to be in Christ Jesus.

Let's pray...

"Father help me to let go of what you have called me to release, and take hold of all that you have called me to inherit. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."

It's time to let it go. Encourage a friend...
