STUDIO UPDATES

Welcome to our first studio newsletter of the 22-23 school year! In a quick snapshot, we welcome a new Music Together at MCMA faculty member, share news about a must-see show and master class opportunity, introduce our October Student of the Month and pass on an exciting faculty snapshot!

And as always, if you're interested in trying out a lesson to see if it's a good fit for you, please send us a message. We'd love to schedule you an introductory lesson.

Meet Our Student of the Month - Jody!

Though it is early in the semester, Jody is working hard to dig deep and go beyond just playing the notes on the page. She is focusing on all of the aspects that make music musical. She comes to every lesson prepared and ready to learn, and always asks the right questions to get the most out of her lesson time. As an educator, it has been fun to see Jody not only play the piano, but also sing along and really get to the heart of the music.

Jody seems to genuinely enjoy the process of breaking down and learning new songs. She has been working on moving beyond the notes and adding feeling to songs through the use of devices such as dynamics and phrasing. Jody is never afraid to try something that others may find difficult or intimidating such as singing along, memorizing tunes, and performing in front of others.
