| | Meet our June Student of the month - Emmit Dayhoof! Emmit has been learning under the guidance of instructor Thomas Ulichny. Tom has this to say about his student: "Emmit began studying with MCMA 8 years ago; he graduates this month and will attend St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY in the fall. Over the (almost) decade I've known and worked with him, he's progressed into a top echelon drummer and is the definition of a true musician's musician. It goes far beyond his spectacular drumming chops, his ability to learn new material on the fly for a gig, or the way he adapts to different musical situations with grace and ease—he understands how to use music to spread joy and build relationships.
Emmit has logged countless hours at MCMA in private lessons, summer camps and ensembles such as Blues Intensive and Bucket Drumming, recitals, and special events. He has volunteered to help build lesson rooms as the academy grew over the years and to move instruments to set up and break down for performances. He's a joyful, kind person who is happy to help his fellow students, and he inspires others around him to learn and grow.
Working with him this past year has been a highlight of my week, especially knowing that he'll soon be an MCMA alum taking his career to the next chapter. Congratulations, E-Man, and thanks for all you have done for MCMA over the years!"

Registration for summer lessons is now open to current students. In the summer semester, there is no requirement to commit to a lesson every week.
