Subject: Final details for Strand Recital Filming

Dear MCMA recital performers,

Here is the filming for Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31st. Click here for the filming schedule for our Winter Virtual Recital, "Play On."

Please review the PDF and make sure all information is accurate. If you have anything to add (song title, composer, or special equipment needed), just let us know. If you change your mind about being filmed in person, please let us know ASAP.

Recital Protocol

  • There is no official dress code, but we encourage all students to look sharp and be professional!

  • Make sure you bring everything you need: instrument, sheet music, lyric sheets, tuner ... every musician is responsible for being prepared for their performance.

  • Masks are required at all times, even during filming.

  • All equipment will be sanitized between performers.

  • Please come into the Strand no more than 10 minutes before your time slot. You should enter through the stage door, which is on Winter St., just behind the Atlantic Baking Company building. There will be a sign on the door. There is plenty of parking in the municipal lot between Winter and Tillson Streets.

  • If you need to wait, please head down the stairs into the audience, get settled, tune your instrument, warm up and get ready to have some fun.

  • Parents may come into the Strand with their child and sit in the audience (again, masks required).

  • MOST IMPORTANTLY: we are gathering to celebrate your wonderful work and creativity this semester. You should feel great about what you have been able to accomplish and have a blast on stage!

What to expect at the Strand

  • Scott Sell will be filming, Justin Milliken will be recording the audio, Jen Feldman will be there and your instructor will be there as able/needed for support and accompaniment!

  • You will have the chance to record your piece more than once if you like (and as time allows) - one of the beauties of a virtual recital - so put your mind at ease!

  • When you arrive, setup on stage will be in the midst of being rearranged and sanitized. As soon as we are ready for you to get in place, we will call you up on the stage.

If you have any questions at all, or any concerns, please don't hesitate to let me or your instructor know. All of us at MCMA are thrilled that you are taking part in our recital this winter. It is going to be a beautiful film that you'll be able to cherish and share with family and friends anywhere in the world!

See you this weekend,

Jen
