Happy Spring! Before we know it, the world will be greening up once again.

Read on to learn meet our Student of the Month, register for our spring session of Music Together®, and learn about an exciting art show in support of MCMA.

MEET OUR STUDENT OF THE MONTH!

Charlie is a 6 (almost 7) year-old who has been studying piano at MCMA since the fall of 2021. His instructor, Chris Pert, has this to say about him:

"Charlie has been taking lessons with me for nearly two years now. He has a deep love of movie soundtracks and we spend much of our lesson time exploring the music of great composers (especially John Williams!), and creating our own soundscapes. Charlie has a great ear for melodies and how they can relate to visual scenes and evoke different emotions. Within this framework, we are working toward a greater understanding of how to read, write, improvise, and even listen to music. Charlie is constantly improving and I am excited to see where his love of music takes him."

Registration is open for our Spring Session of Music Together, featuring Maracas! Sign up now to save your child's slot in class.

Classes begin April 8th and are offered in Belfast (Wednesdays), Rockland (Saturdays) and Rockport (Fridays).

Join us for music, movement and joy in this fantastic whole-family class for 0-5 year olds and the grownups who love them!

Your children will love the energy of this collection! New songs include the enchantingly rhythmic "Al citrón," based on a traditional Latin American children's game, and "Bout My Friends," sure to have everyone dancing to its funky blues. In addition to your weekly classes, tuition includes materials for you to use at home, access to the online Family Music Zone and Hello Everybody app, and a family newsletter full of resources and music-making ideas!

FINE ART SHOW - MCMA BENEFIT

Save the date for the opening on April 26th!

Please take the time to visit this fine art exhibition by Katharine Cartwright at the Craignair Gallery at the beautiful Craignair Inn in Spruce Head. The exhibit runs from April 26th to May 23rd.

Thanks to the artist's generosity, 100% of the profits from sales of her music-themed art will be donated to MCMA!

Join us for the opening on Wednesday, April 26th from 4-7pm. There will be gourmet food, wine, and MCMA performances. We hope to see you there!
