STUDIO NEWS

February is here! LOVE and weather forecasts (and winter break from school) is on everyone's minds. Read on to discover our student of the month, January recital highlights, MCMA's newest instructor, lesson availability, and Music Exploration's invitation.

MEET OUR STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Meet our Student of the Month! Georgia has been studying drum kit with Tom Ulichny for just over a year, and recently added guitar. Tom has this to say about his student

“It has been my pleasure to work with Georgia for the past year. During her time with me, she has been incredibly consistent . She shows up each and every week prepared, ready for a challenge, and eager to learn, with a smile on her face. She has worked diligently on her fundamentals, technique, reading, and rudiments, all of which she has applied to play some songs from her favorite artist, Taylor Swift!

Additionally, this past semester she has also begun studying the guitar, and has increased her lesson time so that she could work on guitar while also continuing her drum studies. Georgia’s excitement for music is infectious, and her ‘can do’ attitude makes her an exemplary student. Congratulations, Georgia!”

WINTER RECITAL

The winter recital at the Strand Theater in Rockland was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who attended. Access the full video performance below...

MUSIC EXPLORATION

Music Exploration is an engaging program for children ages 5 - 8. Aimed at supporting their musical development in a fun and relevant manner, Music Exploration invites children (with no more than four in a group) to participate in an intimate discovery process. Through musical play, collaborative activities, and age-appropriate exposure to a variety of instruments – children will encounter foundational concepts of rhythm and melody. Music Exploration is a great opportunity for children to foster their curiosity before potentially embarking on future private lessons.

Taught by the phenomenal instructor Khaya Cohen, a new session of Music Exploration will begin in early April on Wednesdays from 4:00om-4:30pm. Click the button below for more information and to register.

FACULTY UPDATES

On March 11, MCMA's music therapy instructor Dan Wenger will discuss Analytical Musical Therapy (a model of music psychotherapy), via an online presentation. Event information and RSVP details can be found HERE.
