McDowell Minutes
December 2019

"May mercy, peace and love be multiplied to you" (Jude 2).
Santiago Theological Seminary

Praise God that we had 45 students in the Dominican Republic take the course on expository preaching in November. In October Bruce taught a group of students that missed his earlier course on the doctrine of humanity. Bruce, Aris and Alvaro have recently been coached in development work for the seminary as we seek to grow and acquire the administrative support needed. Praise God many theological books were donated to STS from Missio Seminary, as they move into Philadelphia.
Evangelism in Mexico!
We praise God for the wonderful and exciting time Bruce had in Mexico City in November evangelizing in the parks, streets and Azteca Stadium for the NFL football game with both other Americans and Mexicans (above). As Bruce personally shared the gospel about 22 people believed the Word and trusted in Christ (3 English students pictured who believed). A gospel tract Bruce wrote was distributed to thousands.
Abby to Get Married!

Bruce's second daughter Abby will be getting married on January 18 to Aaron from Philadelphia, but their wedding will be in the Dominican Republic. Pray that it will work out for Kaleah to be able to get a passport to travel for the wedding. Bruce will remain a week after the wedding doing ministry for the Santiago Seminary and outreach in Santo Domingo with pastor Ramon Sosa. Abby began a new job as a nurse practitioner a Hospital of UPenn.

Seminary Presidents of Mexico

In November Bruce had the privilege of speaking on the authority of Scripture to the presidents of 13 Presbyterian seminaries around Mexico that had gathered at Southeastern Presbyterian Seminary in Villahermosa, on the Yucatan. Bruce also taught mini-courses on the doctrine of man and missiology to the 38 seminary students. He concluded his time training a congregation in Tecominoacan on missions and evangelism.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We wish you blessed holidays with the presence and power of Christ with you in the new year. Kaleah is 20 months old, able to jump and say some words. Mercredi-saint is at the end of his first semester at Haverford College where he is having a fabulous time. Anne is enjoying raising Kaleah, offering hospitality and tutoring English students.
