I recently stumbled upon this gem from Jay Ferro about career growth. 

Our whole career could be summarized in these 3 stages. It's like this:

1. I want to be in the meeting.

2. I want to run the meeting.

3. I want to avoid meetings. 

Unfortunately, many professionals never reach the 3rd stage.

Here's my take on it, with a few suggestions on moving from one stage to the next.

📌Stage 1: I Want to Be in the Meeting - We all start here, right? Eager to learn and be part of the action. 

Statement: At this stage, you're an eager learner, ready to absorb every bit of knowledge and experience.

Tips to Level Up: 

🔸 Speak Up: Don't just sit there; share your ideas. Your fresh perspective is valuable.

🔸Be a Sponge: Learn from everyone and everything. The more skills and insights you gather, the closer you are to leading.

📌Stage 2: I Want to Run the Meeting- After a while, it's all about taking charge and making things happen.

Statement: Now it's your turn to lead, making ideas happen and steering the course.

Tips to Step Up: 

🔸Build Your Vision: What's the big picture? Start thinking strategically about what you want to achieve.

🔸Empower Others: Leadership isn't just about being in charge. It's about bringing out the best in your team.

📌Stage 3: I Want to Avoid Meetings - Finally, who doesn't dream of this stage? Leading from a distance and focusing on the big picture. 

Statement: At the peak, it's about steering the ship from a distance and watching your team excel.

Tips to Maintain the Momentum:

🔸Delegate Effectively: Trust your team with responsibilities. This not only frees up your time but also builds your skills.

🔸Focus on Growth: Spend your time on big-picture strategies and personal development. Keep evolving as a leader.
