Are you settling for a Low Salary?
Yesterday one of my new students rated himself 7 out of 10 in his negotiation skills.
I asked about his #salary #negotiation strategy & he said I would ask for 10% raise.
10% Really?
Is this what you are worth after all the hard work & effort?
And it’s not just my student but millions of #professionals & #jobseekers who are making this mistake.
🔥NEGOTIATION is a LIFE SKILL that most people are not born with.
You need to invest in learning & developing it.
👉The reality is people don’t know what they don’t know.
Asking for less or getting a low salary has huge long-term emotional & financial consequences.
1- You Earn Less
2- You receive smaller raises
3- You feel low in your heart
4- You finally begin to dislike your job and /or employer
❌️ DON’T MAKE THESE MISTAKES👇
1- Don’t mention the salary expectations in your cover letter or any application form.
2- Don’t reveal your salary expectations at the beginning (you will be filtered out of getting less salary).
3- Don’t bring up the money aspect during the interview before the #employer does (not even until they make you an offer).
4- Don’t undervalue & over value yourself during negotiation (research the salary range on Glassdoor, LinkedIn, or PayScale).
5- Don’t disclose your current salary (say it's confidential).
6- Don’t reject the offer without understanding the full compensation package & benefits that come along.
✅Always remember – You are paid not based on what you think you need or deserve but on the VALUE, you bring to the table.
❌️ You may bring more but ask for less or bring less and ask for more.
❌ You lose in both situations.
