Wow! Today was an amazing day.
I got a call from 418 Music this morning with the news that the song "Change On Me" which I produced, recorded, mixed and mastered, on Freestyle Dance Music Legend Denine, hit #1 on the iTunes Dance chart, #69 on the All genres chart and #2 on Amazon Music!
But, You know what? As cool as it is, this is bigger than chart positions to me.
This is a personal accomplishment I thought could never happen as a producer.
Why? Well yeah I know I have lots of credits on artists big and small and lots of gold and platinum plaques, but....
There was a time when the younger "Mr. Mig" would hang around studios and tried to get a shot at producing Freestyle songs when it was the "in" sound but I was always turned away and ignored.
Fast forward many yrs later and we have brought this sound back...and to have a #1 today on iTunes with people I love like family is crazy. We had a vision to resurrect a nearly extinct genre so I decided we should keep the sound true to the original 90's sound but update the production and mix quality to today's standards!
