Hey Friend, non-music Question...
Do you invest in yourself? From the beginning of my music career, I made it a habit to regularly reinvest what money I had left over after paying bills into my business by buying music gear, office equipment and whatever I needed to level up as a music producer and songwriter.
I even took music-related trips to work with other producers and artists across the US and even Europe. When I was just 26 years old I went to Denmark twice in a year to co-write some demos with other producers for a group that ended up getting signed to SONY.
While everyone else I knew was throwing money away on the newest fashion trends, jewelry, multiple vacations yearly, cars, etc. I was focusing on my future.
Those trips cost me thousands of dollars but the chance I took paid off and turned into a sizable publishing deal for me and a Billboard top 40 hit.
Stocks & Crypto This past year I decided to take things a step further and get into stocks and crypto currency investing. I love it, honestly and have done pretty well so far.
There are a few really good FREE trading apps like WEBull which has no fees for trading and they even give you free stock to get started plus you can trade both stocks and crypto like Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Ethereum.
Btw, I knew very little about investing in these markets and started with just a few dollars and slowly researched and asked around to get a feel for what might be good investments that would help me when I am ready to retire in the future.
Music Retirement Plan The music industry doesn't have a retirement plan so I've saved what I could over the years but that can only get you so far without working on a retirement plan of your own which is my reason for investing on a regular basis now.
At first, I was really hesitant about taking my savings and diving right in to stocks and crypto. I had some friends that did really well and even had a 19 year old studio client that made a killing on Bitcoin.
One day another producer friend suggested I read a great book by Robert Kiosaki called "Rich Dad, Poor Dad".
This book is awesome and opened my mind and took away the fear I was having. It really changed the way I see things with personal finance and the future.
One quote that from the book that stuck with me is "The rich don't work for money, they make money work for them". Wow!
I highly recommend either buying that book on Amazon or downloading the Audible version to listen to while taking a drive or when you're chillin. I've actually listened twice to the Audible version.
Anyway, if you want to get started with investing in stock and cryptocurrency you can signup for your free account here with >> WEBull and once you fund your account they will give you free stock to get started!
Talk to you soon:)
Your Producer & Friend, Mig MaxxBeats
