Dear Friend,
We hope you are enjoying the holidays, staying well and seeing loved ones. We understand that 2020 has been a tough year for so many. Despite the environment we are all too aware of, and food items missing from shelves, FTCLDF continues to see farmers needing help defending their right to farm and provide real food directly to consumers. FTCLDF has been there. We know finances might be a bit tough right now.
However, if you’re in a place to donate, would you make a special year-end donation to protect the freedom of farmers, artisan food producers, homesteaders, and consumers across the United States? Your support will make a real, lasting impact in the food freedom movement and for members like Hidden Creek Farm in Michigan. For the last six years, Hidden Creek Farm has been selling milk, eggs, and plants. Many customers visit the farm to buy their products. This upset the neighbors, who brought a nuisance action against the farm. We defended Hidden Creek Farm against the nuisance action, which ultimately led to a positive clarification in the state’s Generally Accepted Agricultural and Management Practices (GAAMPs). This change will benefit small farms across the state of Michigan. And after two years, the litigation involving Hidden Creek Farm is resolved.
You see, FTCLDF can be a small farmer’s best weapon.
Please consider making a year-end donation to FTCLDF and to help members like Hidden Creek Farm. If you have already donated, we and our members thank you very much!
BONUS: If you donate any amount through the end of December, you’ll be entered to win one of the below grand prizes for yourself or to gift someone else. All three were generously donated by members:
- One Herdshare School online course from Bees Knees Farm created to guide through the business and herdsmanship of launching a raw milk herdshare program ($325 value), or
- One Farm Marketing from the Heart online course from 3 Cow Marketing designed to help small farmers develop a strategy to sell out ($399 value), or
- One year of Kettle & Fire delicious yet easy bone broth from pastured animals ($500 value).
Happy holidays, Alexia Kulwiec Executive Director
