Dear Friend,
I am thrilled to introduce you to our two newest board members, Mahesha Subbaraman and Kendra Kimbirauskas (both pictured above) and am excited about the experience they bring to our Board of Directors.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Mahesha is a graduate of Amherst College and the University of Minnesota Law School. As an appellate attorney, he has represented clients in state and federal courts on ground-breaking legal matters. Before founding the law firm of Subbaraman PLLC, he served as a staff attorney at the non-profit Institute for Justice. Mahesha is dedicated to providing clients from all walks of life with effective appellate representation. His law firm provides free appellate services to nonprofit organizations and individuals who otherwise cannot afford counsel.
Kendra serves as the Director of Agriculture and Food Systems at State Innovation Exchange. Kendra co-founded what is now Oregon’s most influential small farm advocacy organization, Friends of Family Farmers. Kendra also spent time working with the Socially Responsible Agriculture Project, the Sierra Club, the Illinois Stewardship Alliance, and the Oregon League of Conservation Voters. Kendra grew up on a Michigan dairy farm and now runs her small raw milk dairy in Scio, Oregon. She and her husband also raise beef cattle, hogs, goats, and poultry on pasture.
Both Kendra and Mahesha are delighted to offer their unique skills to the Board and to help increase access to foods from small sustainable farmers.
Meet all our Board of Directors HERE.
In good health, Alexia Kulwiec Executive Director
