To our Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho members and readers: We are certain that you are familiar with the lunatic farmer Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms in Virginia. Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF) is thrilled to reveal that Joel is coming to Jackson Hole October 2-3, 2020.
FTCLDF is working with Slow Food of the Tetons to bring Joel to the Farm-to-Fork festival in Jackson Hole. I cannot provide you with details or a link just yet. As I’m sure you understand, planning this year has been a challenge, but as of now, we are planning a live, in-person event that will include a farmer’s market, informative farming workshops, and a keynote presentation by Joel Salatin.
FTCLDF is also hoping to raise some needed funds at the event to continue its work. Due to this year’s circumstances, many of our other fundraising events were cancelled so this opportunity is very important to us. As you know, FTCLDF represents independent farmers, ranchers and artisanal food producers, assisting them in providing healthy food directly to the consumer, despite regulations that often make this difficult. We are excited to visit a state that has been a leader in food freedom.
I write today because I need your help. I am working to locate potential sponsors, farms, and ranches that may be willing to donate food or funds for the fundraising event, and to connect with nearby folks as we plan the event. If you are willing to be involved in this exciting event, please contact me directly at alexia@farmtoconsumer.org
I look forward to hearing from you, and to my road trip to Jackson Hole.
In good health,
Alexia Kulwiec Executive Director Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund alexia@farmtoconsumer.org
