I've spent way too much time playing Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in the past few days...
I'm not terribly good at combat, but I really enjoy the puzzle element and exploring the environment...
Just by messing about picking up items and chucking them in a cooking pot...
I have made such delights as Copious Mushroom Skewers and Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry...
Although I have managed to create a fair amount of "Dubious Food" using monster guts and other parts (yuck!).
The game tells me they won't kill me...
Probably! ;)
But when it comes to fighting monsters I am rather prone to dying...
Especially because I'm a big wuss and usually try to run away but in my haste accidentally crouch and then get clobbered! Lol!

| | However, being allergic to death, I figured out that if I climb up high enough (eg on top of their cave), I can throw bombs at the monsters and they often can't figure out where I am to attack me...
They just look around, confused. Hehe!
And if they do see me they often can't reach me with their arrows and rocks.
Which means I stay alive without any frantic running or trying to remember which button brings up my shield. Lol!
Thus working smarter, not harder :)
