| ...isn't always the wrong way!
Hey there.
My fellow internet marketer and online friend, Dan Markz tells this great story from his childhood.
At the beginning of the story, you find yourself wondering, "what the heck does this have to do with marketing?"
By the end, you've learned a crazy valuable lesson.
He's given me permission to share his story, so here it is, in his words:
"I'll always remember a moment, from when I was very young, maybe 5 or 6 years old.
I was at my grandparent's house in autumn, and I was helping my grandfather rake leaves.
Now, my grandfather was one of the smartest, hardest-working people I've ever known.
If he didn't know how to do something, he would learn how... and then we would do it, usually very well.
Back to that autumn day. We'd raked the whole lawn (well, he raked most of it), and now there was an excess of leaves in the street.
Not wanting to leave a mess in the road, my grandfather said we should rake them closer to the kerb.
He then proceeded to sit down, right on the edge of the lawn, and motioned for me to join him.
As he reached his rake out and began cleaning up the leaves while seated comfortably, he said something that has stuck with me ever since:
"Sometimes, the lazy man's way is the smart way!"
And he was right. Doing this job sitting was probably MORE efficient than doing it standing."
