In the mid-60s a sleepy UK town called Warminster was at the epicentre of a UFO phenomenon which became known globally as "The Thing".
It all kicked off on Christmas Day 1964 with a strange sound...
Many Warminster residents were disturbed by a loud, unidentifiable whining noise, including 30 soldiers at a nearby base camp.
Some residents reported sounds like something falling on the roof, although the weather was clear and they could see nothing on the roof...
One woman was so overwhelmed by vibrating noises that she was knocked to the ground and rendered unable to move.
She said she was "pinned down by the invisible fingers of sound".
How weird is that?!
