| | Special Events Technician Location: Sloan Museum of Discovery/Longway PlanetariumReports To: Special Events Manager
FLSA Status: Non - Exempt
**This is a part-time position with a pay rate of $13.00 per hour – must be available to work weekends** Job Description: This person will be responsible for collections management of the material culture collection of the Sloan Museum of Discovery. Responsibilities include cataloging, housing, marking, and ensuring the overall proper care of all artifacts. This includes writing and review of policies, the execution of the museum’s Integrated Pest Management Plan and environmental monitoring program. The Assistant Curator also acts as an alternate lead for the collections department when the Curator of Collections is absent and plays a key role in coordinating departmental logistics. |

Pay rate is $15.00/HR* Job Description: The educator will conduct classroom and gallery programs for school groups, other organized groups and the general public both on-site and at off-site locations. Educators will handle setup, presentation, and clean-up for programs and keep the program curators informed on supply inventory. Individuals working in this position may assist program curators with the development and testing of new programs. This position requires a flexible schedule as programs may occur during morning and afternoons on weekdays along with some evening and weekend work. |

Job Description: Floor staff are an integral part of engaging visitors at the Sloan Museum of Discovery. Staff in this position will actively engage with and provide assistance to visitors as they explore the museum galleries. They will be knowledgeable about the museum’s operations in order to aid visitors, volunteers, and staff. Floor staff will provide demonstrations, tours, and activities on gallery floors and in other program spaces, answer questions and provide information, and ensure that the galleries are clean and safe. This position will also assist the Exhibit department with minor on-the-floor exhibit maintenance.

| | Guest Services Representative Location: Sloan Museum of Discovery/Longway Planetarium Reports To: Guest Services Manager FLSA Status: Non - Exempt Pay Rate: **This is a part-time position with a pay rate of $13.00 per hour to start – must be available to work weekends** Job Description: The Guest Services Representative is responsible for providing exceptional guest service to both patrons and internal customers. The Representative will handle gift shop sales, admission tickets, and light cleaning to ensure that the facilities are neat, clean and welcoming to our visitors.
