Looking for a fun and educational way for the whole family to spend your Winter Breaks? Sloan Museum of Discovery will be open every day December 26-January 5, 2025, for Winter Break adventures! Enjoy four hands-on galleries that offer something for everyone! Hagerman Street is a kid-sized neighborhood for ages 0-6; Discovery Hall for the hands-on science immersion; Durant Gallery for people who love cars; and the History Gallery for people who love history! (Please take note that Discovery Lab maker space is currenlty closed for upgrades and will re-open in January).
Due to the Arts Education & Cultural Enrichment Millage passed by Genesee County voters in 2018, Genesee County residents receive free General Admission to Sloan Museum of Discovery (and 50% off tickets to Longway Planetarium); please bring your IDs to show residency to receive your benefits. Active Military personnel and their immediate family members, Military Veterans, and Teachers also receive FREE general admission with valid IDs. Book Fair for Grown Ups Sat., January 18, 6-8 p.m. for 18+ Featuring new and used books from local book sellers R & B Books, Scholastic Books, and other vendors. Make your own bookmarks, buy a new book to start, or bring an old book to finish! Find a gift for yourself or for someone else! Cash Bar with food, drinks and snacks available for purchase at the Coffee Beanery Café. Bonus! Hobby Workshop - Making Tapestries
Sat., January 11, 2025 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., for ages 16+ Learn to make your own tapestries in this hobby workshop. Participants will learn about the tools and techniques used in the craft.
