REAL BODIES: THE EXHIBITION opens July 7!
REAL BODIES opens July 7 as the first highly-anticipated traveling exhibit at the newly-renovated Sloan Museum of Discovery.
REAL BODIES THE EXHIBITION, is presented by Hurley Medical Centers in partnership with Sloan Museum. This powerful exhibit has been seen in big cities across the globe, and now you can see it in the Sloan Museum of Discovery, starting July 7, in the new 6000 square feet Fun Gallery exhibition hall.
REAL BODIES transforms the way we view the mysterious organism we all share - the human body - and reminds us of all the complexities and magic within us. Curious learners of all ages are welcome; recommended for ages 12+.

"Tasteful Toga" Night Coming to After Hours @ The Sloan!
For those 21+ who are so inclined (and you know who you are), don your best toga and join us in raising a glass for the original party people, The Greeks, on August 2 at Sloan Museum!
This first-time event features a Toga Fashion Show, Greek games on the lawn, and fun for all! When you exhaust yourself from the merriment of Greek culture, you can explore all four museum galleries and play like a kid again! Get wet at the Great Lakes water table, or check out the Discovery gallery with one of our many hands-on interactives! Or, step into our Discovery Lab Maker Space for a special adults-only "Maker" hour where you can design and craft your own themed creations!

First Fridays at the Planetarium - Update on Webb Telescope's First Year of Space Exploration
Nearly one year has passed since the first Webb Telescope images were released to the public. This special First Friday will discuss both the data and images released in the last 6 months and the current operating state of the telescope. Topics include icy plumes from the moon, a moon of Saturn, debris discs of young stars, galaxies, and more!

Summer Planetarium Show Schedule
The Longway Planetarium is adding more shows throughout the weekdays to accommodate families during the summer. You can check out one of the live-format space educational shows, like Skies Over Michigan or Space Academy-Aurorae, or be entertained and awed by one of the full-dome feature shows like the new Dinosaurs of Antarctica or Secrets of the Universe. And back by popular demand is the iconic musical light show Queen: From Mercury with Love.
