The Holiday Walk Returns to the Flint Cultural Center Campus December 3

-New additions include a live 25-foot holiday tree in Durant Plaza-

Flint, MI – The 39th Annual Holiday Walk returns to the Flint Cultural Center campus on December 3, 2024, 5-8 p.m. This Flint holiday tradition takes place on the beautifully decorated 33-acre campus of the Flint Cultural Center and is free to the public. The campus will be transformed into a winter wonderland with imaginative holiday light displays, festive live music and performances, movies, seasonal crafts, free planetarium holiday sampler shows, and photos with Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus and their elves in the FIM Whiting Auditorium. The Claus’s –along with Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley, Michigan State Representative Cynthia Neeley, and Steve and Rosanne Heddy—will kick off the Holiday Walk at 5:15 p.m. with the annual tree lighting ceremony. To accommodate a much larger and live 25-foot tall Holiday Tree, the kickoff ceremony has moved to the Durant Plaza located between FIM Whiting Auditorium and Sloan Museum of Discovery off of E. Kearsley Street. Parking is free.

Old Newsboys of Flint has been selected as the charitable recipient of donations. Participants are invited to bring clothing, socks, gloves, dental hygiene products or toys during the Holiday Walk and deposit them in one of the Old Newsboys of Flint donation boxes located inside the Flint Cultural Center venues along the Holiday Walk route.
Food trucks from Northern Smoke BBQ, Mr. Prince Gourmet and Bella Concessions will be selling food on East Kearsley Street during the event.

Santa Claus, Mayor Sheldon Neeley, Michigan State Representative Cynthia Neeley, and Steve & Rosanne Heddy will kickoff the Holiday Walk at 5:15 p.m. with the tree lighting ceremony in Durant Plaza.

FIM Bower Theatre | 5:15-8 p.m.
The Snowflake Adventure, a 360-degree virtual ride in the Bower dome
(timed tickets available starting at 4:30 p.m. in E. Kearsley St. tent in front of Flint Repertory Theatre, first-come, first-serve; timed entry every 10 minutes limited to 15 people per show; last entry 7:45 p.m.)
FIM Elgood Theatre/Flint Repertory Theatre | 5:30-8 p.m.
• A musical cabaret of new and old holiday classics, featuring some of your favorite Flint
Rep performers. Special holiday treats
Flint Institute of Arts | 5-8 p.m.
• Glass blowing demonstrations in the Hot Shop until 7 p.m.
• Make & take art activity in Isabel Hall
• Free family-friendly short films in the FIA Theater all evening long
• Museum galleries open - don’t miss the Monet now on view 
Gloria Coles Flint Public Library | 5:30-8 p.m.
• 5:30 p.m. & 7 p.m. performances – Carman Ainsworth High School String Orchestra
• 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. performances – Richard Paul, Ventriloquist
• 5:30-7:30 p.m. – Create your very own holiday themed crafts
• Refreshments provided by Friends of the Library
