Murder Mystery at the Museum Wed., October 4, 5:30-8 p.m.
This After Hours 21+ event is totally rad! Step back into the 1980's to solve a murder mystery that takes place throughout the museum. Join along with the mystery and see if you can figure out who dunnit before the other guests. After solving the murder, stick around and explore all four museum galleries and play like a kid again! Or step into the Discovery Lab Maker Space for a special adults-only "maker" hour where you can design and craft your own themed creations! 21+ Event; cash bar will be open for drink purchases. $5/person (Free admission for Genesee County residents with valid I.D.). Historical Book Club - Free with General Admission Thurs., October 5, 6-8 p.m. Featured book: Haunted Michigan Graveyards, by Bradley P. Mikulka Every first Thursday of the Month at 6 p.m., Sloan Museum of Discovery hosts a free book club (included with museum general admission). All books are affiliated with Flint's storied history. The evening will conclude with a special guided tour through Sloan Museum's History Gallery where club members can connect with the book's historical references through real-life museum artifacts. REAL BODIES: THE EXHIBITION
This powerful exhibition explores life by displaying real, perfectly preserved human bodies and more than 200 anatomical specimens. The exhibition transforms the way we view the mysterious organism we all share - the human body - and reminds us of all the complexity and magic within each of us. Recommended for 12+, but all ages welcome. Learn more. Buy tickets (tickets have timed entries for a more personal viewing experience). Exhibit tickets include admission to the entire museum. The REAL BODIES exhibit and all four galleries are open until 8 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month (October 12). |
