"The Timekeepers of Mesoamerica" 
November’s Cultural Astronomy live program will explore how the Mayan and Aztec civilizations of Mesomerica used the night sky to develop intricate calendars and how their ancient temples and cities have been rediscovered in the modern era. Presented by Longway Planetarium Manager, Patrick Ross, M.S.

Skies Over Michigan
Tues-Sun, 3 p.m.
Longway Planetarium’s astronomy experts take you on a
tour of the current night sky over Michigan in this live planetarium talk. Great for adults and kids ages 12 and older.

Serengeti
Tues-Sun, 4 p.m. | Thurs/Fri/Sat 7 p.m.
The Serengeti is home to most of Africa’s most iconic animals, and hosts one of the world’s greatest natural events — the annual wildebeest migration. Nature has orchestrated a perfect symphony in which every species has a very distinct role to play in the balance of an entire ecosystem. We’ll see it through the eyes of the youngest members of our animal cast as they imitate their parents, and learn about the mighty roles they’ll play.

Dark Side: The Light Show

Experience Pink Floyd’s iconic "Dark Side of the Moon"

The incredible story of how astronauts train underwater to live and work in space. Recommended for ages 8 and older.

Follow the adventures of Sy and Annie and their dog Armstrong as they embark on an unexpected journey into space! The Accidental Astronauts is a space adventure for all ages.

Space Academy: Stars (live, interactive format programming)
Sat & Sun, 1 p.m.
This new live program is presented by a planetarium astronomy expert. It explores the life, birth, and death of stars including stellar formation, the electromagnetic spectrum, supernovae, and star lore. Great for sky and astronomy fans at a 3rd grade level and older.

The Magic Globe: A Story of the Seasons
Sat & Sun, 2 p.m.
On vacation at her grandpa’s, a little girl Mia accidentally discovers a mysterious piece of astronomical machinery. The Magic Globe is an engaging story designed to
interest and challenge children from 5 to 12 years old.
