Happy New Year! The Longway Planetarium and gift shop will be closed December 31 and January 1 for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, then re-opens on January 2 for Winter Break fun that the whole family will enjoy. Shows start at Noon on January 2 with Legend of the Enchanted Reef, 1 p.m, 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. with the final showings of the seasonal favorite Cosmic Christmas, 2 p.m. is Cosmic Colors, 3 p.m. is the live daily astronomy show of Skies Over Michigan, and 8 p.m. is Queen Light Show: From Mercury with Love.
On January 3, 6 p.m., the First Friday live presentation will be a fascinating update on the newest images being sent back to Earth from the James Webb Space Telescope. One Sky, a brand new show that combines seven short films into one highlighting how we're all connected by one sky, premieres January 7. Then, starting January 9, get ready for the debut of Longway's new laser light show system with Laser Taylor Swift and Laser Zeppelin!

The One Sky Project is an international collaboration to foster greater understanding of humanity’s connection to the sky. This full-dome feature compiles seven different short films that explore different indigenous perspectives while demonstrating how our one sky connects us all. New Laser Light Show System Debut January 9, 2025, with Laser Swift and Laser Zeppelin!
You asked for it and we brought' it! A brand new laser light show system debuts at Longway Planetarium on January 9 with Laser Taylor Swift at 7 p.m. and Laser Zeppelin - A Whole Lotta Led at 8 p.m.. The two laser light shows will run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through May 10, 2025. The lights shows include haze effects for an optimal laser light show experience and surround sound under an expansive 52 foot dome. What a great way to rock out and sing along! Romance Under the Stars Returns February 14-15, 2025
Reserve your spot at the table with your sweetest! Enjoy a unique and elegant meal under the starry dome of Longway Planetarium, complete with appetizers, drinks, dinner and dessert.
