Last week's birthday celebration for my baby girl had a bit of craziness.

She desperately wanted a battery operated car so we headed to Toys "R" Us to and decided to get a Land Rover because it was so adorable.

The next morning we discovered upon assembly that the pieces were damaged and didn't align properly.  We drove back to the store for an exchange, only to discover after driving home again that it too was damaged.

Once again we headed back to the store (which is 45 minutes away from my home), at this point we discovered that the Land Rover we selected was a store brand and they get them back all the time.

What! It wasn't the original Fisher Price Power Wheels?  It was hard to tell because they looked the same at first glance. 

You see no matter how much they tried to copy the Power Wheels car, Fisher Price will still come out the winner.

Why?

It's simple, Fisher Price was the originator, they are the best at battery operated vehicles for children.

When you are creating programs and products for your business be an originator!

This will allow you to do two things:

1. Stand out as an expert. When you are the creator of your own THING you become the originator and expert.  The one to beat, the BEST.

2. Become the person people want to copy.  You may be worried about others copying you but that should be seen as a compliment. They may create a similar product or program but they won't be you. 

Be an originator not a copycat!
