The biggest non-commercial open-air music festival in Europe will take place in Kostrzyn nad Odrą (western Poland) from July 30th until August 1st 2020. The massive event, spanning five stages and hundreds of additional activities is free. The festival, which will be celebrating its 26th edition this summer, boasts a vibrant and diverse line-up showcasing both Polish and international acts.

The festival is much more than music event - it has a cult following in Poland and is organised by the biggest NGO in the country.

Wednesday 13  is the brainchild of its frontman, the namesake Wednesday 13. The band is often described as a horror punk outfit crossing over to heavy metal and gothic metal. Yet, the frontman of the band draws his inspiration from different music genres and cultural elements. The band taps into the horror, serial killers, and 80s inspired metal. The group is committed to ghoulishly glamorous aesthetic, replete with morbid imaginary referencing historical serial killers, stark make-up and black outfits.
Rise of the Northstar flawlessly combines heavy metal, hip-hop, hardcore punk with inspiration drawn from manga - widely popular comics and graphic novels created in Japan. The name of the band derives from the manga Fist of the Northstar, and the group is thematically and artistically influenced by the bustling cityscapes of Tokyo. Currently, the band tours clad in all-black uniforms, with some band members wearing masks, a style which compliments the post-apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo universe they create on stage.
Fiddler's Green will celebrate its 30th anniversary with the audience at Pol'and'Rock Festival. Fans of Irish folk-inspired music are in for a real treat this year. Fiddler’s Green joins Dropkick Murphys, The Rumjacks, and Saint City Orchestra in the Pol’and’Rock Festival lie-up. The Fiddler‘s Irish Speedfolk style really does speak to audiences all over the world—the energy on stage is intoxicating.
The Exploited is an iconic band, credited with coining the phrase "punk's not dead". The Exploited were initially a street punk formation, presenting the working-class punk response to the first wave of British punk. Its quick guitar solos, intense pace, and lyrics about partying, brawling, and rebelling against the system characterise street punk. The band kept evolving, moving towards a heavier, thrash metal sound. "Death Before Dishonour" from 1987 signalled a turn towards thrash metal, while "The Massacre" released in 1990, was a crossover thrash album.
Raz Dwa Trzy is one of the most exciting bands on the Polish alternative music scene. Raz Dwa Trzy went on to release seven studio albums, each of them garnering a lot of attention from fans and getting praise from music critics. Raz Dwa Trzy released three live albums, one compilation album, and two video albums, the first of those chronicling their spell-binding show at Woodstock Festival Poland in 2005.

The Second Stage Line-up

Festival organisers have also added four bands to the Second Stage line-up. The bands confirmed to play there are the Rumjacks, Death Angel, Saint City Orchestra, and Dirty Shirt.
Death Angel are three decades into their celebrated career and are widely considered to be thrash metal legends. the group was able to carve out a niche in the booming metal scene of the Bay Area of the time, becoming one of the leading acts of the second wave of the thrash metal music. Often referred to as one of the members of the big 8 of thrash, alongside Metalica, Megadeath, Slayer, Testament, Anthrax, Exodus, and Overkill. The band’s technical skill, passion, and high-voltage live shows helped to established their leading position on the thrash metal scene.
Dirty Shirshows what can happen when you blend the power of heavy metal with the energy and passion of Slavic folk and the richness of inspiration derived from world music. The band, which is regarded as one of the most original and successful rock groups in Eastern Europe is coming to Pol’and’Rock Festival Second Stage this summer!
The Rumjacks are making their return to the Most Beautiful Festival in the World, this time showcasing their trademark fusion of Celtic folk, solid punk rock and hard rock at the Second Stage of Pol'and'Rock Festival. The primary source of inspiration for the group is the fast-paced, catchy quality of Celtic folk music, which, when paired with dynamic punk rock and elements of hard rock results in a sound which is uniquely the Rumjacks.
Saint City Orchestra is another band inspired by Irish folk music. The energetic folk-inspired band from St. Gallen in Switzerland is going to take the Second Stage audience straight on a pub crawl across the Green Island! With just one album in their oeuvre, the band is quickly gaining traction on the European festival scene.
