Friend,
As usual, after I write an in-depth email series I take a break to let my writing muscles unwind.
So today, I'm sending you a link to an article I wrote a few years back. It's about the realities of running a martial art school, and why despite the challenges and drawbacks it's still one of the best damned jobs in the world:

P.S. - Running a full-time school isn't for everyone. There are a lot of sacrifices required when you start a business. Your free time will soon become a memory, your relationships might have to be put on the back burner, and you might have to give up certain luxuries until your dojo is making a decent profit. People who focus on the suffering usually quit. But the ones who are always looking ahead to the future will typically stick it out and grow successful schools.
