Friend,
So, I'm sharing the video below with you for a couple of reasons. The first reason is for the krav people out there, who will immediately get most of the very corny humor in the video.
The second reason is to show that it's okay to present a lighter side of your dojo on social media. (A little self-awareness goes a long way with today's skeptical consumer, believe me.)
Think back to your first class, and how intimidating it was to walk out on the mat. Just the intimidation factor alone can often keep people who are on the fence from starting martial arts.
However, for someone who is new to the martial arts or self-defense training, humor can help break down the intimidation barrier, and I think this video is a great example.
Anyway, enough chit-chat. Check it out for yourself and see if it doesn't stir up any ideas for a short video you could do with your own students: https://youtu.be/Zs3HUe174-c
Until next time,

P.S. - Earlier this week I wrapped a 50-minute podcast interview with Matt Page, who you probably know as Master Ken from Enter the Dojo. I'll do my best to have this latest episode of the podcast edited and online by Friday of next week. Keep an eye out for it, it was a fun interview and Matt proved to be just as hilarious as his alter-ego. |
