UK horse racing has finally been given the all-clear to resume this week, starting today with an afternoon all-weather meeting at my local course Newcastle.

As of today then, our France "warm-up" service will terminate, and our UK-based service will fully resume.

I realise that we really don't know the full implications of the enforced 2+ month break, and in light of this we will be gradually easing ourselves back into business as usual... 

For our selection process, we'll be putting particular emphasis on the following until the racing scene gets back to some semblance of normal:

 - Information directly from stables. We've been adding to our list of contacts during the time off, and nobody knows more about how the days runners will run than the trainers themselves.

 - Form. While recent form will be pretty much non-existent this week, obviously runners with good performance coming off longer breaks can be bumped up the pecking order. Runners without such form and 2 year olds, will be selected tentatively, if at all.  

Hopefully, the above factors should stand us in good stead over the coming weeks...
