A Big Thanks to everyone who filled it out - we've received well over 1,000 completed surveys and this has massively helped us decide exactly what to bring you next...
The great news is we have our brand new strategy prepped ready to share with you next week - Midday On Wednesday 1st September to be exact - so be sure to mark this date in your diary.
Ok, onto the survey results...
Q1: Which types of bet are you interested in?
From our choices of Win, Each Way, Lay, or Multiple/Accumulator bets, the most popular choice was (perhaps unsurprisingly) Win Bets. More surprisingly, there is also a fair number of you interested in Multiple/Accumulator bets...
We have therefore chosen to bring you a straight Win Betting strategy. We've also included a completely optional add-on, where you can combine our selections in multiple bets for extra profits.
Q2: What strike rate do you expect from your bets?
The majority of you stated "I don't mind, as long as they make a profit" so in theory we could go with a lower strike rate strategy. However, a fair few of you selected "at least 25%" so we will aim to keep the strike above this level...
We feel this decision is especially important after taking into account your answers to the next question...
Q3: How much of your bankroll are you comfortable using?
This is the point at which you would typically stop placing the bets. The most popular vote was "up to 25%", and this confirms that a strategy with a decent strike rate is the best way to go.
When the strike rate is lower, losing runs are longer and these can be difficult to cope with. The upshot of this is that we will mainly be focusing on the top end of the betting market (at low-medium odds), which is a bit different from the services we currently offer since we often focus on higher priced each way bets.
Q4: Which type of tipping service interests you most?
This ties in with our first question, but here we asked you to choose just one option from a "win or each way service", a "lay service", or an "accumulator service"...
Unsurprisingly then, a "win or each way service" was the clear winner with over 77% of the votes, and this confirms that our decision to focus on straight win betting is the correct one.
Q5: Which of the following statements describes you best?
Our final question asked you to select one of the following options:
"I have unrestricted bookmaker accounts, and access to "best odds guaranteed"
"I have unrestricted bookmaker accounts, but no "best odds guaranteed" "I have restricted bookmaker accounts, my stake size is limited"
"I only use betting exchanges"
To me, this was the most surprising result with the majority of you stating you have unrestricted bookmaker accounts and BOG. This is great news as it means many of you will be able to achieve the maximum possible profit from whichever betting strategy or service you choose to use...
However, there was also a fair few of you stating you only use betting exchanges, so we have decided to go with a strategy which allows you to profit using either the bookmaker or betting exchange.
The one caveat to this is that during proofing, our new strategy only produced a very conservative profit at Betfair start price (BSP). So, if you plan to use the exchanges we recommend taking a mid-morning price which has given a far better result.
Ok, so that's sums up the survey results and hopefully gives you a clear idea of what to expect from our brand new strategy next week...
