What's our betting focus for for this year's Newmarket July Festival? ...
Well, I recently compiled an archive of the top racing systems I've created and used in the pursuit of betting profit...
We currently have five system based approaches available to download and use (and more to be added soon), but not all are necessarily suited for flat festival racing...
In my opinion, our best fit for Newmarket is First Class Fancies. It specifically focuses on class 1 racing, so covers all the biggest races and we should therefore see plenty of action over the next few days...
But how has this system performed in recent years? ...
I'll be the first to admit, the overall performance of this system last year wasn't quite as good as 2015 & 2016. However, if we narrow down the focus specifically to Newmarket, here's what the stats look like...
- 17 Wins from 103 Bets - 16.5% strike rate
- Average winning odds - 7.36 (approx. 11/2)
- Profit at Betfair SP - 47.53 points
- Return on stakes invested - 46.15%
Ok, so the strike rate isn't terrific, but the profit and return figures make pretty impressive reading...
And personally, I much prefer smaller stakes at more generous odds to backing favourites, especially in larger fields where almost anything can happen...
