We all know the easiest way to avoid bookie restriction is simply to place the majority of our bets on the betting exchange.
However, most betting strategies work best when we take the best available price with a bookie that offers BOG (best odds guaranteed). Why?
Compared to taking the current exchange price or placing bets at Betfair SP, and taking their fees into account, the bookmaker usually gives us the higher payout.
What we really need is a strategy, or even better a collection of strategies, where either:
- We can achieve a similar or better profit by placing our bets on the exchange.
- The profit levels are high enough that we have several options when placing our bets.
This is what I focus on when creating betting strategies, to ensure all users can generate a sustainable profit no matter their current situation with the bookies.
In action, the strategies in our Win Portfolio service look a bit like this:
- Two strategies are based on placing all bets at Betfair SP, and show a slightly higher profit than if we used the bookie.
- Our third strategy generates 324 points profit per year, giving us the option to place our bets with either the bookmaker or the betting exchange.
