With all that's going on at the moment, it's very easy to become worried and fearful about the future...
With that being said, I'm a firm believer that "keeping calm and carrying on" is the way to go in times of crisis like this.
Here's why...
1. Fear leads to "reactive" behaviour, as we saw with all the panic-buying in recent weeks. Fortunately, toilet-roll is starting to appear on the shelves again (in the nick of time, too).
2. After thousands of peer-reviewed studies, it's been proven beyond doubt that the placebo effect is real. This implies that focusing on a particular outcome increases the likelihood of it happening...
Why is this true? Let's leave that to the scientists and philosophers.
3. Opportunity lies in wait, for those with the ability to see it.
While the negatives of this crisis clearly outweigh the positives, it doesn't necessarily mean there is no silver lining to the coronavirus cloud...
There certainly seems to be less pollution, people being nicer to each other, and more wildlife in the streets, at any rate...
