Subject: Are odds of 13,983,816/1 worth taking?

Hi Friend,

I could hear the imaginary groans of many readers during my last email,
when I shared with you that I played the lottery.

I mean, what serious bettor would even consider it?

The chance of hitting the jackpot is a staggering 13,983,816 to 1!

There is a real reason, I assure you. It's not because I think i'm unusually
lucky or anything like that.

The reason why I play is to vent my inherent need to gamble.

The majority of us enjoy betting, right?

Over the years what i've found is that inside the mind of every bettor is a
gambler trying to escape (for the vast majority of us at least).

This means most of us are going to slip up at some point, like it or not.

This can manifest as placing bets we didn't mean to, chasing losses
when we know we shouldn't, upping our stakes for no good reason...etc etc.

The solution i've found to this need to gamble is to include it in our designated
betting activities - I call them Fun Bets.

Not that my regular betting isn't fun, but these bets are solely for
enjoyment - i'm not realistically expecting to see a return from them.

But theres always a small chance of hitting something big!

My fun bets of choice are the lottery, the odd scoop6 or Placepot bet on a
Saturday, or an occasional small bet on a fancied horse that doesn't
qualify under any of my current betting strategies.

These regular fun bets keep me tied over whenever I suffer a moment of
weakness, and they don't break the bank either as the amounts placed
are always small.

And like my conservative lottery win last week, you do get a payout once
in a while.

Fun Bets are a very useful tool in my opinion to keep us on the straight and
narrow with our serious betting activities, where the ultimate aim is to turn
a profit.

It's something i'd recommend everyone give a go the next time they find
themselves wanting to place a stupid bet, after all -

If you're going to be stupid, why not choose the stupidest bet of all
- The Lottery!

All the Best,
Michael
