Racing is back in full swing today, with an eye-watering 11 meetings and 71 races on the cards...

Fresh from my four day Christmas break, I fired the computer back up at 7am this morning to get to work, and faced a daunting task...

How do I find the strongest bets from 71 races, and get them posted to the site before 10am?

Fortunately, it's not the first time I've faced a challenge like this, and here's a few simple ways you can avoid information overload on days like today...

1. Focus On The Good Stuff - High grade racing is a good place to start, where form is more widely available and liquidity in the betting market is higher. Today, much of the action is at Kempton, although it's worth ordering the cards by class to get a full list of top grade events.

2. Go Where The Winners Land - Most punters are more succesful in certain types of race than others. For me, Hurdles and AW seem to perform the best...I also filter out the extremes when it comes to field size, distance, and price when necessary.

If you don't know where most of your profit comes from, I definately recommend keeping track of some basic race factors with your results in future, or using a bet tracking tool. Maybe this could be one of your new years resolutions?

3. Get Someone To Do The Work For You - Tips are the obvious solution to many a punters head-scratching, but days like today certainly test the limits of statistic-based tipping services...

One angle I'm exploring at the moment involves getting information directly from the stables. After all, when it comes to expert opinion, trainers are at the top of the list of people to listen to...

4. Keep It Fun - Boxing day merryment often causes people to get excited and bet more than they normally would...this was certainly the case when I first got into racing, at any rate.

I'll skip the lecture...but you know your limits, so stick to them.

Best Of Luck Today!
