The term "misery loves company" is real.
It's easiest to get "comfortable" attention by being like everyone else, which is often overweight, unhappy, and stuck.
Getting attention by stepping up, stepping forward, and stepping into your power draws the critics. The bullies. And their comments that scream insecurity.
It's because when you succeed you become a mirror for other people.
They get a good look at someone taking charge of their life, success, and happiness (you) and realize they may not be doing the same. And that scares them.
Yes, it would be GREAT if everyone saw your success as inspiration to step up to the plate in their own life and hit a home run.
But what if they miss the ball completely and are embarrassed, disappoint themselves and others, and... just... fail... AGAIN?
These old emotional memories get triggered by your success.
This fear of negative feedback, losing friendships, and ridicule, backstabbing, and being shunned, is why most women don't get the life they desire.
They are too busy staying small so as not to show anyone else up and make them feel bad.
My own mother told me, "The more successful you are, the more I feel like a loser."
And there is was. In just a few words. The reason I'd played small my whole life to keep her love.
Who are YOU playing small for?
If you want to create the life you really want, you have to be willing to lose those who don't actually have your back.
The icky part is... they are sometimes the ones you thought DID have your back.
I assure you. There are others who will admire, respect, and be inspired by your courage to step away from those who keep you playing small.
But you have to be willing to let go of the others to make room for them to come into your life.
Good News! You may find many of your current people DO have your best interest at heart and ARE happy to cheer you on and be inspired by you, even join you on your journey!
They are the ones who LOOK for mirrors to see how they can improve and make a bigger difference in the world, or in just one person's life. They are the empowering people you want to fill your life with.
So if you are feeling you are playing small out of fear of others not liking you, supporting you, or criticizing you, you're certainly not alone.

Yes, you definitely will get some backlash from those who don't want to look in the mirror you provide and see they are playing small.
