Hey Friend,
Today is a bittersweet day. It's my oldest daughter's last day of high school. Hard to believe my little girl is getting ready for college in the Fall. The graduation ceremony is next Wednesday at the University of Central Florida, where she'll be attending college. I'll finally get to see where all my money is going to go...
Back to our list of top reasons why guitar is a MUCH more fun way to spend your time than home improvement projects...
Number 9...
10. Less Offensive Visually 9. More Mobile 8. Less Tools Needed 7. Less Physically Painful 6. More Fun Socially 5. More Impressive 4. Sexier 3. More Envy 2. Less Expensive 1. More Respect
When was the last time you were able to take your house with you somewhere? I mean, you've done all these great things to it inside and out, but it's not exactly mobile. You can take your guitar with you anywhere.
Obviously an acoustic guitar is ready at any time. Just pick it up and start playing. For electric, it takes a little more forethought, but there are very transportable small amps that are battery-powered. I've got a Roland Micro CUBE that I could fill up with batteries and take to the beach. It also comes with a power chord for regular use.
This has been a handy amp to have around. It's a super portable modeling amp and has settings to mimic tones from clean to Hair Metal. There is also a control for various effects ranging from reverb to flange, so you can get quite a few sounds out of it. Whether you're into a very clear signal chain or you like it extra gritty for Metal, you can dial in some good stuff.
The Roland CUBE series amps make great practice amps, but I've also used it plugged into a PA. If you're getting a tone you like out of it, it's plenty loud and you can use it to perform with.
Line 6 also makes affordable, portable modeling amplifiers, as well as Fender, Orange, Marshall, Blackstar and Vox. If you're looking for something like that, just do a quick search in the Amplifier Store for "portable" amplifiers and it'll bring up a nice long list to check out. http://www.learn-to-play-rock-guitar.com/amplifier-store.html
We'll, I've got to get back to working on this dang floor - with any luck it'll be done today. Not exactly what I planned on doing for my birthday, but whatever...
Have a great Wednesday.
Peace~
