Subject: Yo, what's happening?

Hey Friend,

I didn’t want January to get away without another email, so here it is!

It’s been a few weeks since the last newsletter... So what have you been working on?

I decided at the start of 2019 that I was going to establish some habits. A lot of things have slipped over the past year, so I wanted to be diligent about doing something guitar related every day, even if it’s only for 5 minutes.

I’m happy to report it’s been going very well. I pick a guitar up every day for at least 5 minutes, and I’m seeing results, so “Yay me!”

Lately I’ve been on a real Def Leppard kick, specifically the Hysteria album, so my time has been going towards learning “Gods of War.”

I've been playing Def Leppard tunes since my first band in 1981, so I guess it's in the blood at this point.

What about you? Do you have a routine that allows you to spend 5 precious minutes a day with your guitar?

If not, why? It’s ONLY 5 minutes!

Enough time to run through a chord progression or learn a riff. Play a scale. Practice a strum.

A few years back I did a series called "The Daily 5 Guitar Habit." I sent out a message every day for an entire year, hoping to inspire anyone that joined to play for at least five minutes a day.

Just the act of picking up your guitar can keep you inspired, even when you feel like you’re spinning your wheels.

Maybe I’ll do something like that again. I can’t guarantee it’ll be free (since it does cost money to host a website and maintain it), but it would be reasonable…

Anyhoo, I hope your January has been a solid start to the year. Rock on, my friend!

Peace~

Dave

P.S. If you think you might be interested in building your daily habit of playing guitar, just reply "Me too" to this email and I'll keep you in the loop when I decide what's next...
