Subject: Would you like some chords with that?

Hey Friend,

Good morning!

I’ll be super quick.

Building on what we did last time, there’s a new set of exercises for you.

Specifically, we were getting your fingers used to a simple Travis picking pattern using only open strings, but today we’ll play chords with the pattern.

The fingerstyle pattern is the same, thumb handling the bass notes and your index, middle and ring fingers playing the melody.

Again, fingerstyle notation uses traditional Spanish verbiage to tell you which finger to use. Here’s a quick refresher:

P = thumb
I = index finger
M = middle finger
A = ring finger

As you’ll see in the exercises, I’ve clearly marked which finger to use. Also note that the finger is shown as small letters in the score as well.

Here are the exercise files:

Let me know if you have any questions. Hope you have a great day!

Peace~

Dave
