Subject: “Us and Them” Part 2

Hey Friend,

Yo! Happy Friday to ya! Got anything cool planned for the weekend?

No worries, I’ve got you covered. You can play through this second exercise with the chorus section from “Us and Them" by Pink Floyd. Here’s the start point in the Youtube video so you know where to start playing this part.

If you took the time to learn the verse progression (from yesterday), the chorus is a simple add. In fact, it’s easier than the verse because we’re strumming chords though most of it.

By the time you string the verse and chorus together a few times, you’ll play the entire tune.

This is a good jam tune. Because of the way the verse passage repeats, each instrument in the band could take a lead and show off their mad skills.

Now you might notice I changed the tempo on this exercise compared to the verse. Instead of spreading quarter notes out over more measures, but at a faster BPM, I wanted the exercise to feel more like the recording.

I think the information I got when creating the first exercise was wrong. I know you’re shocked, but yes, even I make mistakes.

I’ll go back and fix the first exercise so these go together better.

In the meantime, there’s nothing holding you back from learning this chorus section and getting good at it.

Don’t work too hard today. You need to save your strength for the weekend... Rock on!

Peace~
